Domingo Lemus

Guatemalan filmmaker, editor, and composer with a degree in Communication Sciences and a graduate of the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) in Cuba. I have contributed to over 25 film productions across Guatemala, Panama, the United States, Spain, and Mexico, building a versatile career that bridges performance, post-production, and storytelling.

My acting debut as Joel Fonseca in Puro Mula, produced by Best Picture System, established me as a recognizable figure in Guatemalan cinema. The film has garnered over 13 million views on YouTube, resonating widely with audiences. I have also co-starred in Ovnis en Zacapa, Hostal Don Tulio, and Cusha, Compadre, further expanding my presence in Latin American film.

As a producer and editor, my work has been recognized at more than 20 international film festivals, including the Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Cuba, the Ícaro Festival, FIC Costa Rica, the One Minute Film Festival in Belgium, Fantastic Cinema in La Coruña, and the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland.

I founded the Cineteca Xela and am an active member of the Guatemalan Academy of Film Arts and Sciences. I have a strong interest in the conservation of audiovisual archives as part of a broader mission to protect and celebrate regional storytelling.

Currently based in New York, I continue my creative and editorial work with major companies such as HBO, History Channel, ESPN, and Amazon, while maintaining a strong connection to the independent film scene and Latin American cinema.
